Volunteer for Summer Reading!

Summer is just around the corner. Of course, you won’t be able to tell that from the recent weather we’ve been having but it is!

Multnomah County Library is gearing up for Summer Reading and here’s your chance to be part of this great program that promotes literacy in a fun way for everyone!

Become a Summer Reading Volunteer!

Through June 15th (when the program begins) you can sign up to volunteer as a Summer Reading assistant. You’ll “register children, award prizes, talk with kids about the books they have read, help with events and record keeping.”

I’ll have a shift at Central on Sunday afternoons and I am looking forward to it!

Will you be volunteering? Participating? Or, have you done either in the past? Share your experiences.

Fun fact: MCL’s Summer Reading Program is turning 100 this year!
