Keep Our Libraries Open!

On March 6th, the Libraries Yes website went live!

What’s it for? Why is it important?

Their Facebook page answers those questions quite nicely:

“The Multnomah County Library is one of our community’s treasures. It is an important resource for children and families. The library launches an early love of learning, provides a safe and structured environment for kids after school with free homework help, keeps seniors connected and offers assistance for job seekers. But 65% of the library’s funding depends on the Library Levy: without it, most neighborhood library branches will close, hours will be cut and programs will be eliminated. That’s why renewing our Library Levy this May is so important.”

As patrons and community members, we can help keep our libraries open. Libraries Yes has listed various ways to get involved. They even have a section where you can share your story of why the library is important to you.

You can join like-minded individuals during March 13th’s Library Lovers Unite! We hope to see you there showing your support!
