Kenton Library

8226 N. Denver Avenue Portland, OR 97217

The Kenton Library building was built in 1951 and it was originally a hardware store.

The library features a barrel ceiling, and one wall is made of reused wood from the original building.

The art on the glass meeting room doors (when open) reflects simple observations of community and nature in Portland. The artist is Marlene Bauer.

The children's section displays signs in both English and Spanish. These signs show the steps for successful early childhood literacy.
